Jean Cocteau,

An American Donation – Robert Rubin

Exhibition on display from January 20 to February 7, 2015

From January 20 to February 7, 2015, the Fondation Pierre Bergé - Yves Saint Laurent will present in its Salons an exhibition of works by Jean Cocteau along with portraits of the poet entitled Jean Cocteau, An American Donation – Robert Rubin.

The American collector Robert Rubin, a Jean Cocteau enthusiast and connoisseur who also lived in his Palais-Royal apartment for many years, assembled a group of forty works, which were presented as part of the Cocteau retrospective held at the Centre Pompidou in 2003. The works include an exceptional collage dated 1926, a portrait of Paul Eluard, and photographs of the poet by Berenice Abbott, Limot, Cecil Beaton, and Pierre Jahan. This collection has now been donated to the Fondation Pierre Bergé - Yves Saint Laurent and will go on to be housed at the Maison Jean Cocteau in Milly-la-Forêt.

Curator: Dominique Païni

During this period, the Galerie Coullaud & Koulinsky will display a series of works related to Jean Cocteau and his influence on contemporary artists.
